I must admit, that learning from school is important - you learn the grammar, teachers are there to help you if you have any troubles - but the best way to really learn language is to use it during your free time and things that you are interested in.
I am really fond of music, especially indipendent rock, britpop etc. So when I was looking for some new genres and bands to explore I found CBC3 - it is a Canadienne radio, that is accesable online and you can manage your own music. It was really interesting to learn how Canadiennes talk and learn something about their music.
If you are not looking only for music, you should try BBC . In addition to music, there is plenty of channels that you can choose and listen some interesting debates,learn something about new books or listen to some experts talking about current affairs.
If you are not actually a very good at English yet, and you need to brush up you language and grammar skills I recommend you helpforenglish It is a Czech websites, but it is one of the best choices if you are studying grammar school for example, and you are preparing for entrance exams. You can choose your own language level and test yourself or learn something more about grammar.
